Stress could be one of the main reasons for weight gain. Following are the main ways how a stress could impact your body fats.

1.     Brain releases chemicals such as adrenaline, CRH, and cortisol to combat stress. Adrenaline makes you feel less hungry in the short term which flows blood away from internal organs to large muscles, developing an unnecessary need for eating.

2.     Cortisol slows down the metabolism.

3.     Research of American Psychological Association's "Stress in America" shows anxiety increases craving for mindless eating. Generally, quantity is higher in case of eating in stress. Focus is not on digestion but on the brain.

4.     Stress messes up with brain system which in a short term demands more carbohydrates such as junk food or ice cream.
